Plot summary

Sean, Vincent, Jody and Lenny all work night shifts, in a hospital, a supermarket, a circuit board factory and a call center. They meet in a cafe after work because none of them has much else going on. Sean has not seen his girlfriend Madeline in three weeks and wonders whether she still lives in his flat. Vincent drifts from one woman to the next. Lenny, once a writer of porn stories, cannot summon the nerve to ask out Gail, a workmate. Jody lost her job but still turns up each night to talk. Then Vincent picks up a woman, and she is Madeline.
