Plot summary
By April 1975 the North Vietnamese Army is closing in on Saigon, and panicked South Vietnamese people try to escape the city. The American evacuation of Saigon is codenamed Operation Frequent Wind. Soldiers and diplomats on the ground are under orders to take out U.S. citizens only, an order that leaves behind the South Vietnamese they might otherwise save. Obeying means abandoning people who are desperate to leave; disobeying means risking punishment to save as many of them as they can. People who were in the city during those weeks describe what they saw, and footage from Saigon shows the evacuation as it happened.
