Plot summary

Army Specialist Crystal Davis, 21 years old, is moved from Iraq to Germany and then on to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., after the loss of a leg, and she fights to recover. Around her, doctors, nurses and medics of the American military treat the wounded near the fighting in the Iraq War, and the soldiers and marines in their care meet their injuries with courage and resolve and put their effort into healing. The documentary also follows students at the Uniformed Services University, known as the West Point of military medicine, as they train to become career military physicians.
