Plot summary
Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers examines the corporate contractors that took on the work of supporting the American war in Iraq. Four of them, Blackwater, KBR-Halliburton, CACI and Titan, held contracts covering food, laundry, housing and security as well as intelligence gathering and interrogation. Through interviews with employees and former employees, soldiers and the families of workers who were killed, the film sets out claims of cost-plus contracts that repaid expenses and added profit, no-bid awards, and little oversight of the money spent. Soldiers describe the services they received as substandard beside the sums the companies earned, and former Halliburton employees say the company held the only contract to supply purified water for the troops, and that what it handed out was contaminated. The filmmakers asked the companies to answer the charges and did not get responses.
