Plot summary
In Murabad, a village where Hindus and Muslims live side by side, Thirunavukarasu, known as Thiru, drifts through life without a job. He falls for Dhanalakshmi. The politician's son Maharajan, called Raji, argues with Thiru's mother, and Thiru beats him and his men. A cricket match is arranged between two local teams, the Muslim 3 Stars and the Hindu MCC. Raji intends to use the match to set the villagers against one another. The 3 Stars call on Shamsuddin, a talented player from Bombay, whose father Moideen Bhai was a close friend of Thiru's late father. Thiru and Shamsuddin have been enemies since childhood. As the teams prepare, old grudges and Raji's scheming push the village toward a conflict that threatens its unity.
