Plot summary
Stéphane Leheurt, known as Fane, is an aspiring novelist who returns to the family house he has inherited after his mother's death, bringing Lilas, his girlfriend. He wants a quiet life there with her and with his brother Maurice, called Mo, a mentally handicapped man who lives in the house, and he means to look after him. The house stands beside a garage run by Voke, who wants the property to enlarge his business and would not mind Lilas either. Voke tries to buy the property from Fane, and Fane refuses. Voke then goes among the townspeople and turns them against the three newcomers.
