Plot summary
During World War II, a transport plane carrying passengers between Cuba and Puerto Rico runs short of fuel and a storm throws it off course. The pilot, James "Mac" McCarthy, hears nothing over the Caribbean but a faint radio signal, and the aircraft comes down on a remote island. Bill Summers, a passenger, and his valet Jefferson Jackson find shelter in a mansion kept by Dr. Miklos Sangre and his wife Alyce. Jackson, uneasy in the house, decides it is haunted by zombies and ghosts, and some of the doctor's servants tell him the same. The stranded group begins to notice mysterious events in the mansion.
