Plot summary
Jack, a disgraced Rabbi, receives a recliner by mistake, touches it and has a vision of its past. He concludes a Dybbuk, an evil spirit, is inside it, and studies Dybbuk lore, including videos by the psychic Tohunga Makutu. The chair turns up outside Francesca's apartment, and she and her boyfriend TJ carry it inside, where it begins to take an interest in her. Francesca dreams about the chair and wakes to a breakfast she credits to TJ. Detectives Bob Gravy and Roseanne Grape question Francesca and her friend Maxi about the dismembered foot of Frederico, one of her stalkers. Jack's partner is a voodoo sorceress, and the two try to trace where the recliner was delivered.

- Director Bernie Rao had only one recliner to shoot with, so he could not film the sofa jumping from a window and crushing a person on a car, or a scene of the sofa vomiting blood, because he feared staining the recliner's suede.
