Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Khakee (2004)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Akshaye Khanna was set to play Sub-Inspector Ashwin Gupte but walked out, and Ajay Devgn, first offered Senior Inspector Shekhar Verma, instead played the villain Yashwant Aangre — his second antagonist role after the 2002 thriller Deewangee. Tusshar Kapoor was later signed as Gupte.
- While filming in Nashik, Aishwarya Rai was hit by an out-of-control jeep and thrown into bushes at the roadside during a rehearsal with Tusshar Kapoor; she fractured her left foot and suffered bruises. The jeep was meant to stop 20 feet away from them.
- The film's fictional city of Nairoli is really Apta, near Panvel, and Apta's railway station was renamed Nairoli for the shoot-out scene.
- Rajkumar Santoshi wanted A. R. Rahman to compose Khakee's music, but Rahman did not sign the project because of other commitments; Ram Sampath got the job after an audition.
- Lara Dutta was signed for the item number "Aisa Jadoo", and after several actresses rejected the part, the role of Mahalakshmi was finalised with Aishwarya Rai.
