Plot summary

Narsimha Deva Reddy controls the politics of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, and his close associate Veerbhadra carries out his political work, free to field his own contestants in the Jilla Parishad elections. Veerbhadra champions the poor and oppressed, who look to him as a leader. Nagmani Reddy, another man close to Narsimha, grows jealous of that trust and convinces Narsimha that Veerbhadra intends to take his position. Narsimha calls Veerbhadra before him and withdraws the seats promised to his men. Veerbhadra protests the unfairness to the underprivileged and leaves. Nagmani then has Mandha, Veerbhadra's right-hand man, seized and forced to serve his plan against Veerbhadra. Pratap Ravi, Veerbhadra's youngest son, is away at college in the city.
