Just Buried (2007) on Netflix

Plot summary

Oliver Whynacht's return to Nova Scotia is meant to be brief: he and his brother Jackie are there for their estranged father's funeral, and the will gives Oliver the family funeral home. His stepmother Luanne and Roberta Knickle, the embalmer, are surprised as well. Henry Sanipass, the handyman, explains that the business is nearly bankrupt, the father being its first customer in over a year, because Wayne Snarr's rival funeral home has poached the retirement home clients that had been a goldmine. Oliver goes drinking with Roberta, who says everyone around there drives anyway; on secondary roads he looks away for a moment and the truck kills a Swiss night hiker. Roberta, also the local coroner, helps him make it look like an accident, and the dead man becomes his first paying customer.
