Plot summary
Munki the monkey and Trunk the elephant live in a jungle isolated on the African plains, with the rhino Rocky, the giraffe Tallbert, the hedgehog Humph, the frog Ribbert, a mother ostrich and her three unhatched chicks. One morning Munki and Trunk wake up talking: a four-legged, jello-like alien named Fneep, from the planet Scaldron, has brought a speech pod translator that gives the animals words. Fneep's ship crashed near the mountains, and he intends to conquer Earth. Rather than resist, the animals surrender peacefully, and Fneep's conquest is a success. His ship holds a homing beacon that can call other Scaldronians to the planet, so Munki, Trunk, Rocky and Humph agree to travel with him across the plains toward the wreck.

- Jungle Beat: The Movie was the first Mauritian-South African animated film; director Brent Dawes founded Sandcastle Studios in September 2017 during a trip to Forbach, Mauritius, and the studio partnered with Sunrise Studios for its first feature.
- The realistic hair on the animals and the aliens' glitter-like slimy skin were achieved by rendering on Houdini's GPU Mantra render farm; each scene of the film took around four hours to render and compose.
