Plot summary
Jack's days in Manhattan follow a routine: he is a successful advertising executive, and his best friend and business partner George keeps arranging introductions to women who want to settle down and have children. Jill is an aspiring actress who has just arrived in the city and is looking for a place to live. She asks Jack for directions on the roof of the agency building, and he puts her name forward for an ad shoot. When he drives her to the address she has taken, the neighborhood does not look safe to him, so he helps her move and she takes the spare bedroom in his apartment.
