Plot summary
Four couples keep up a regular Sunday brunch, a gathering that has grown tense over the years. Glenn is the newcomer, on his third date with Tracy, a doctor in the group, and he meets the others while everyone waits for Jenny and Gordon, the couple who are always late. When the men step away to watch football, they find the television, the Internet and the landline phones all dead, and Pete's complaint about unpaid bills brings his and Emma's coming divorce into the open. A neighbor, Hal, turns up in a hazardous materials suit with word of dirty bombs set off in major American cities, one of them twelve miles from the house.
