Plot summary
Kat wants to stand on her own two feet, and renting out a room in her house looks like the way to do it. A real estate agent named Jessie turns up and takes the place. Kat is keen to be friendly and skips the usual check on references, and Jessie proves hard to know. The woman is drawn to the occult, and Kat starts to wonder if her tenant is dabbling in witchcraft. Then the nights turn bad: shapes she cannot place keep her awake, and the young landlady feels unsafe where she lives. Kat sets out to work out what is going on under her own roof.
