Plot summary
Hallie and Owen have been dating for three years when they join Willa and Matt, their friends, at a Malibu house party. During the July Fourth fireworks the couple argues, then makes up once they are home. Willa texts a man named Jakob, and Matt does not know about him. Hallie proposes that she and Owen move in together; he hesitates, and she leaves. At a photo shoot Hallie meets Dexter, who has just been dumped.
