Plot summary
Lottie Mason's work for the Los Angeles police vice squad has her posing as a prostitute, and she finds the stings thrilling. Detective Stan Harris begins to court her, while her superior, Lieutenant Joe Morgan, harasses her. After a sting turns deadly, a shaken Lottie blows a tire driving home. Waiting at a gas station, she has a drink in a bar across the street, where a stranger approaches her and takes her for a prostitute. He is Tony Perón, a mobster from New York City hiding in Los Angeles as a witness at the coming trial of the kingpin Luna. Lottie gives her name as Carla and agrees to go with him to a mansion in Beverly Hills.
