Plot summary
Ricardo, a middle-class father, is sailing across a remote lake in Chile with his two daughters. They are on their way to the family's vacation home, a house that has been neglected for years. The girls nap on deck in the midday sun. Ricardo sees men on a small boat who appear to be in distress and are calling for help. He freezes and turns the sailboat the other way. His daughters wake and tell him he lacks compassion. Ashamed, he goes back and takes the men aboard his sailboat.
