Plot summary
Madelyn is a marketing professional. She spots her husband Paul in a restaurant with Lucy, his mistress, and telephones him to be certain of what she has seen. Paul, gripped by guilt, leaves Lucy on the spot. Madelyn follows Lucy, finds her distressed while buying a long length of rope, and makes friends with her. Madelyn gets Lucy, an aspiring actress, into an amateur staging of King Lear, where Lucy is the Fool and Madelyn takes the role of Lear, played as a queen.
