Plot summary
Jennifer Hills, a novelist, leaves New York City for a rented cabin in Louisiana to write her next book in private. At a gas station, Johnny Miller gives her directions and flirts with her. When the plumbing clogs, Matthew Duncan, a plumber with an intellectual disability, fixes it, and she kisses him in gratitude. Matthew tells Johnny, Andy Chirensky, and Stanley Woods. Johnny, embarrassed by the earlier meeting, decides Jennifer is snobbish and needs a lesson. That night the four men enter the cabin to taunt and assault her, but Matthew refuses to take part. Jennifer escapes into the woods and meets Sheriff Storch and Earl, the cabin's owner. Storch brings her back, but after finding drugs and alcohol, he doubts her story. The men return, and the violence escalates.

- New Zealand banned the DVD release just before it was due to go on sale in April, and German authorities placed the film on a list restricting its sale to adults only.
- Roger Ebert gave the film a zero star rating, as he had the original, and judged this version more offensive because it "lingers lovingly and at greater length on realistic verbal, psychological and physical violence against the woman" before reducing her revenge to cartoonish impossibilities.
