Plot summary
Marshall Briggs works at the Sutton Advertising Agency, where his Miss Luxenberg beauty contest for Luxenberg Beer made the brand famous and introduced him to the model who became his wife. Janice Blake won that contest, and since the wedding her husband has given his hours to the office. His boss, Frederick W. Sutton, wants another campaign from him, and Janice has just learned she is expecting a baby, though she cannot find a moment alone with Marshall to say so. Her mother, Mrs. Blake, has her own theory about where the young man's evenings go. Marshall's answer is a second contest, this one for married women: Mrs. Luxenberg.
