Plot summary
Pierre, twenty, leaves his mountain village in the Pyrenees for Paris to become an actor. He turns to Evelyne, a middle-aged nurse he met once at Lourdes, where he worked as a stretcher-bearer. Distracted by the paralyzed mother she lives with, she finds him a job in a hospital kitchen. He finds somewhere to stay and buys a book on how to become an actor. A colleague, Said, invites him to dinner with two middle-aged men, both gay: Dimitri, a cellist who is Said's lover, and Romain, a television personality fascinated by Pierre. Pierre is disgusted by the evening.
