Trailer

Plot summary

Joseph, Marcel's father, teaches school in Marseilles and argues about religion with his brother-in-law Jules, a jovial and pious Catholic. Their disagreements do not stop the two men from taking their families to share a house in Provence for the summer. Jules offers to teach Joseph how to hunt, and the pair slip out early one morning, leaving Marcel behind on purpose. Marcel follows them, becomes lost in the hills, and meets a boy named Lili, who knows the countryside and shows him where the hunters have gone. Lili and Marcel become friends and spend their days exploring the hills together.
