Plot summary
Eddie works as a casting director in the Hollywood Hills, where cocaine, drink and women fill his days. Mickey, his married friend, has moved in with him for a time after trouble with his wife. Artie and Phil, an actor who is not working, complete the group. Eddie is in love with Darlene, and she is involved with Mickey as well. Artie gives Donna to Eddie and Mickey as a gift, and Bonnie is handed to Phil in the same way. Mickey is satisfied with how things are, while Eddie has begun to question his own way of living and what it is for.
