Plot summary

Bowdrie, known as Bo, lives off the grid in the remote Oklahoma woods with his teenage daughter Tag, whom he has raised away from town since her mother died when she was three. One morning while fishing, Tag finds a woman in the river, badly hurt and shot. Bo would rather stay clear of it, but they carry her into their secluded cabin and tend her wounds. When she recovers, she says her name is January and that she and her roommate Lizzie were seized by the Brotherhood cartel, a gang tied to a violent criminal named Alejandro. The gang wanted what the two women knew about Lizzie's boyfriend Jenson, once an associate of its members. January escaped, and Bo and Tag agree to keep her hidden.
