Plot summary
Billy Walsh arrives at Heathbrook Academy from California as a transfer student, and the school takes to him at once, Amelia Brown most of all. Archie Arnold, her best friend since childhood, has loved her for years without saying it, and had planned to confess this term. Billy earns top marks and captains both the swim and rugby teams, and Archie grows jealous. Archie's parents Lilly and George are close with Amelia's father Rupert, and over an evening together they mention a Love Doctor whose help once brought their marriage back from the brink. Amelia overhears and begs Archie to find the man's phone number, thinking it may help with Billy.
