Plot summary
Martyn Wyatt, a doctor, and his wife Hannah separate after he tells her he is gay, and she keeps custody of their son Oliver. Oliver lives with Hannah and her boyfriend, Frank Donally, and spends afternoons with Martyn and Martyn's partner, Tom Dixon. He arrives at his father's house with cuts and bruises and says boys in the park beat him up. Oliver stays quiet about where the injuries come from, and Hannah will not hear any suggestion that Frank is responsible. Martyn begins a court case for sole custody of his son, and Hannah's side brings his relationship with Tom into the argument over his home.
