Plot summary
An unnamed hobo steps off a boxcar in Hope Town, a city whose graffitied welcome sign reads Scum Town. The crime lord The Drake rules it with his sadistic sons Ivan and Slick. The Hobo watches an amateur filmmaker stage fights among homeless men, then sees The Drake and his sons name a bloodied man, Logan, a traitor before the townspeople. Begging on a sidewalk, the Hobo saves for a lawnmower he wants from a pawn shop. After Slick demands money from a boy named Otis, a prostitute named Abby speaks up for him, and the Hobo knocks Slick out, then brings him to the police station, where the chief's corruption is plain. The chief and the brothers cut a slur into his chest and leave him in a garbage bin, where Abby finds him.
