Plot summary
Abraham, known in earlier years as Abram, lives in Canaan with his wife Sarah, once called Sarai. The Lord tells him to take their son Isaac, promised to them after long childlessness, to the mountain of Moriah and offer him there as a burnt offering. Abraham says goodbye to Sarah and sets out with Isaac, his servant Kelzar, the son of Eliezer of Damascus, and Eshcolam, a Pelishtiy. On the road the group meets Pelishtiy guards of Abimelech, king of Pelesheth, who allow them to continue once Abraham gives his name. Abraham recalls the call that brought him from Ur Kasdim, the covenant of land and descendants, Sarah's maid Hagar and her son Ishmael, and the birth of Isaac.
