Plot summary
In Tijuana, Marcos Márquez runs a Chinese restaurant his parents left him, and he has just turned 50. He never became the writer he hoped to be, and a Chinese mobster is pressing him to sell the restaurant. Among his mail is an invitation to the wedding of Clara, the only girlfriend he ever had, thirty years ago. Marcos refuses to fly, so he decides to drive to Monterrey, on the other side of the country. He does not know that Fernando, an 18-year-old who works for him, is hiding in the trunk of his car. Once Marcos finds him, the two travel together.
