Plot summary

The Winchester Mystery House needs caretakers, so Drake and Susan take the post for a few months, with their daughter Haley along. On the drive the family nearly collides with an oncoming car, and at the mansion their keys will not open the gate, leaving them to walk up. The caretaker's wing is uninhabitable, so they choose other rooms. Harrison Dent, who calls himself a paranormal investigator, approaches while Drake is grilling outside and offers his help; Drake is skeptical and turns him down. A door locks from the outside and traps Haley in the basement, which Drake blames on Dent while Susan suspects ghosts. When they call the police, the line gives only static.
