Plot summary
Yasaka comes to the home of Toshio, an old acquaintance, after being released from prison. Toshio runs a machine shop from his garage, where he lives with his wife Akie and their daughter Hotaru, who is learning the harmonium and plays as a novice. With no permanent place to stay, Yasaka is taken in as an assistant at the shop. He dresses in white and makes himself useful around the shop and the house, and he helps Hotaru with her music. He becomes a greater part of the family, and he and Akie are drawn to each other, kissing on several occasions.
