Plot summary
When the sour-sweet wind rises over Whoville, the Whos know what it means: the gree-grumps wake in the tree stumps around Punkers Pond, their growling stirs the pond's hakken-kraks, and the yowling carries up Mount Crumpett to the Grinch. He orders his dog, Max, to bring out the Paraphernalia Wagon, and the two start down the mountain toward Whoville and the Grinch Night Ball. Sergeant Samuel McPherson tracks the descent and keeps the town posted. Euchariah, a young Who with astigmatism, steps out to the euphemism and is carried off by the wind to Mount Crumpett, where he meets the Wuzzy Woozoo and Max before running into the Grinch. The Grinch takes the boy for too small to bother with and moves on. Euchariah decides he has to stall him.
