- The film adapts the real 1757 raid on Berlin: during the Seven Years' War, András Hadik was ordered by Maria Theresa to march his hussars secretly to Berlin and occupy and ransom the enemy capital while Frederick the Great was away. His unit covered the 450 kilometres in barely six days, moving largely under cover of night to surprise the city and its garrison.
