- Most vagy soha! is the most expensive production in the history of Hungarian filmmaking, given state support by the National Film Institute; with the 30% tax rebate tied to film production, it cost 7 billion forints in total, per hvg.hu citing the National Film Office.
- Some schools made watching the film compulsory as part of their 15 March celebrations; the tickets were charged to pupils or their parents, which many criticized, and pupils who skipped without, for example, a doctor's note were given an unexcused absence.
- Rákay Philip said the sets, which cost billions, would be rented out to other productions and would, he said, pay back their price in 8-10 years; it also turned out that the state paid well above the market price for the land under the set.
- Casting lasted for months; finding an actor for Petőfi Sándor was the most critical task, and every Hungarian actor who at all resembled the poet was invited to auditions before the decision-makers chose Berettyán Nándor.
- Rákay Philip, the film's writer-producer, considered watching Most vagy soha! a patriotic duty, while critics known to be right-wing or government sympathizers he called traitors.
