Plot summary
In Manchester in the present day, Michael splits his time between the pub and the job center. He meets Lee by chance, and through her Uncle Ian he lands a job working the door of a massage parlor in the Northern Quarter, after a heavy night of drinking. From that door he watches one of the punters die violently. Blood-drenched flashbacks follow, and Michael feels himself pulled into a twilight world he cannot understand but cannot resist.
