Plot summary
Ethan Mascarenhas was once the world's greatest magician. A performance went wrong fourteen years ago, and he has been quadriplegic ever since. His nurse, Sofia D'Souza, has cared for him for twelve years while he writes books and hosts a radio show, Radio Zindagi, reaching listeners with his wit. His internal organs now fail, and permanent hospitalization and machines loom. To avoid that, Ethan asks his lawyer, Devyani Dutta, to petition a court for the legal right to end his life. The request shocks those around him, and the government's counsel, Vipin Patel, opposes it.
