Plot summary
Guy is a jazz trumpeter in Boston, and Madeline is shy; the two have been dating for months. When Guy encounters a girl named Elena in the subway, he sets out to search for a relationship with her, and he and Madeline break up. Shot in black and white, it is presented in a vérité style and mixes live jazz performance with tap dancing and more traditional musical numbers. All of the music is original.
