Plot summary
Someone is leaving $100,000 on doorsteps across New York, and the gifts reach Christina, an older woman with money troubles; Maria, a wealthy oncologist who plans to put hers toward research; Jesse, a carpenter recovering financially from a work accident; and Faith, a paralegal who needs it for her education. The giver becomes known as Good Sam. Kate Bradley covers disasters and tragedies for Channel 12, and she takes up the question of who the donor is. Sylvia, one of many people who contacted the channel, sends a video asking for help with her mother's medical costs. A clue sends Kate to the apartment of Eric Hayes, a firefighter, though the man she was tracing was his brother Patrick, who died in a sailing accident.
