Plot summary
Mathilde is a French war correspondent who has lost her husband in Libya. She travels to Kurdistan to report on the Kurdish forces fighting ISIS, and there she meets Bahar, who commands the Gordyene Unit, a women's militia made up of former ISIS captives. Before the war Bahar worked as a lawyer and lived with her husband and son. When ISIS overran her town, the women and children were taken captive, and her son was among the children carried off. Bahar wants her town back and her son freed, and her unit is preparing for that fight while Mathilde films the women and their preparations.
