Plot summary
Haley Macklin is 16 and academically advanced, and skipping a grade left her feeling like an outsider at her high school. A group of popular girls excludes her, so she writes critical remarks about them on a social networking site. She then befriends Alexa Simons, who brings her into that circle, though some of the girls stay suspicious of her. As Haley spends more time with the group, her behavior changes: she disobeys her parents, Melissa and Ray, and shows her family little respect.
