Plot summary
Malcolm Graves leads a satanic cult, and at a ceremony he is about to sacrifice his infant son Jonathan. The baby's mother, Anastasia, fastens a protective talisman around the child's neck. Malcolm tells a follower, Wolfgang, to carry the infant away, and Anastasia dies in the child's place. Twenty-five years later Jonathan, raised by Wolfgang, inherits the estate of the father he never knew and moves in with his girlfriend Rebecca. Wolfgang says nothing to him about his parents. On the grounds, Jonathan and Rebecca come upon Malcolm's grave. Inside the house she finds books on magic and a cellar full of ritual objects. The couple throws a party, and Jonathan gathers his friends for a ritual in the basement. Nothing seems to happen and the guests leave, but a small creature takes shape there.
