Plot summary
Alex Pankhurst, a former soap opera star with little talent for the stage, takes the lead in a traveling Shakespeare troupe's production of Macbeth at a lodge. His wife, Liz Beth Stevens, plays Lady Macbeth. Thomas Ingram, cast as Banquo, wants the part of Macbeth for himself. Henry Asquith directs the company, Archie MacIntosh is its stage manager, and Elliot Wadsworth, a veteran actor, plays Duncan. Madeline Styne, one of the witches, is superstitious about the play's curse, and Juliet Miller, a backpacker, joins the cast as another of the witches. Alone on stage, Liz and Thomas call the superstition nonsense and speak the play's name out loud.
