Plot summary
Mewsette, a beautiful white cat, and Jaune Tom, a shy mouser, live on a farm in Provence and are in love. Mewsette grows tired of country ways and of Jaune Tom's plain manners. The human Jeanette tells her how glamorous and refined Paris is, so Mewsette runs off to the city by herself. A smooth con-cat named Meowrice spots her country innocence and hands her over to Madame Henrietta Reubens-Chatte, a cat who promises to turn her into an elegant Parisian lady. Jaune Tom leaves the farm with his friend Robespierre, and the pair reach Paris and start looking for Mewsette.
