Plot summary
Marnie has finished college at 23 and has no clear idea of what comes next. She takes temp jobs she dislikes and drags herself out of bed for them after nights out. What she wants most is the attention of Alex, a friend from her college years, but Alex is already in a relationship and does not seem interested. She is also trying to cut down on her beer drinking. Her days pass this way in the Allston neighborhood of Boston while she looks for work and wonders whether she is wasting her time on Alex.
