Plot summary
Mike Hanson plays for the Whalers. Hurt again soon after coming back from an earlier injury, he lands on injured reserve with broken ribs and returns to his hometown to stay with his brother Jimmy. There he is talked into helping coach the flag football team his niece Zoey plays on. Erin Allen, a single mother who works in real estate, has a 12-year-old daughter in the same league. The boys on her daughter's team will not pass her the ball, so she asks Erin to help her join the all-girl squad. Erin approaches coach Jimmy about a place for her daughter and finds Mike, her boyfriend from college, helping with the same team. She keeps an eye on his healing ribs, and tells her business partner Georgina that she broke his heart.
