Filmmakers for the Prosecution (2021) on Netflix

Plot summary

When the American authorities prepare the Nuremberg trial of twenty-four leading figures of the Third Reich, they hand a mission to two soldier brothers. Budd and Stuart Schulberg, sons of a producer and already familiar with the film trade, must assemble moving images and sound recordings that document Nazi crimes and back the case of chief prosecutor Robert Jackson. They answer to John Ford, who heads the Office of Strategic Services. Over four months they travel through a devastated Europe and keep hundreds of hours of footage out of reach of destruction, a great deal of it filmed by the Nazis themselves. Their cutting room then works against the clock so that, when the hearings begin on November 21, 1945, films are ready that show the persecution, from early pogroms through the camp system, as planned in advance.
