Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Ferrari (2023)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Michael Mann began developing the film around 2000, and was offered $40 million to make it but refused, because he thought the budget was not enough.
- Christian Bale entered negotiations to star as Enzo Ferrari in 2015, but exited the film in January 2016 over concerns about meeting the role's weight requirements before production began.
SPOILER
The worn cat's eye that the film depicts as causing de Portago's fatal crash was a real physical prop, not a digital effect: CRP Technologies 3D-printed it from a rubber-like thermoplastic, the same process used for the film's archaic racing helmets.- In April 2017 Hugh Jackman entered negotiations to portray Enzo Ferrari, with Noomi Rapace as his wife, and Paramount no longer involved in the project.
- Adam Driver won the role of Enzo Ferrari on the strength of his performances in Logan Lucky and Marriage Story, after Jackman left; Driver, director Michael Mann and Penélope Cruz all cut their salaries for the film.
