Plot summary
Sara is one of five people who developed post-traumatic stress and new or worse phobias after a masked gunman attacked them in a small diner. She went to Dr. Andover, who treats fear-related conditions by placing patients inside his Fear Chamber, a machine that induces and controls hallucinations. The treatments seemed to work, but years later the patients' fears are back and they return to the clinic. Urged by her friend Megan, Sara returns too. Andover hesitates to resume, because of what happened to an earlier patient, but his assistant Osborn and the patients insist the chamber is the only way. A new patient, Blake, arrives with his mother, who says he has begun having severe night terrors; a head injury has left him in a wheelchair and limited his ability to speak.
