Plot summary
Alice works as a sous chef at one of New York's top restaurants. Her boss there, Bret, is also her boyfriend, and he is unhappy when an invitation arrives asking her to judge a food competition at a prestigious annual fundraiser. Alice accepts and travels to Kansas City for the event, where she is surprised to find Christian, a man she dated back in college, seated among the judges of the cooking show. Serving on that panel beside him, and the competition itself, make Alice reconsider the dream she has been chasing.
